Serendipity is how Deb Scharf explains how she found her position as the Manager of Research and Evaluation Services at the Simcoe County District School Board. Deb is a clinical and health psychologist with policy research experience. As a SCDSB graduate she has always had an urge to return to Simcoe County.
As the Manager of Research and Evaluation Services she covers many tasks throughout the day: She splits her time between “finding flow” in data analysis and working with SCDSB administration to use that analysis in decision-making and policy design. Using evidence to drive decisions and create opportunities is what makes her passionate about her career.
Deb believes that it is great to learn about areas in which we excel as well as areas that are in need of improvement. She hopes to create excitement around using data to advance SCDSB’s performance in all areas.
While living in Simcoe County, Deb enjoys the outdoors, running and reading fiction novels. She would also welcome anyone to a friendly game of Scrabble!
