Georgian Football Festival Takes Off

On September 30th and October 1st, Innisdale Secondary School, Bear Creek Secondary School, Barrie North Collegiate and Eastview Secondary School participated in the Georgian Football Festival at the Barrie Sports Complex. This event showcased each team along with enthusiastic and spirited students in the stands.

Each school donated its net proceeds to a local charity. Barrie North supported Jumpstart, Bear Creek supported the Food Bank, and both Innisdale and Eastview donated their proceeds to the Terry Fox Foundation. The following are the charitable totals for each school:

  • Barrie North – $1,035
  • Bear Creek – $705 plus two large bins of non-perishable food items
  • Eastview – $1,687
  • Innisdale – $825

On Wednesday, the Innisdale Invaders and the Bear Creek Kodiaks faced off for the first game of the festival. Bear Creek took hold of the game early and won 23 – 8.

On Thursday, the Eastview Wildcats and the Barrie North Vikings competed, with a final score of 42-13 for North.

We were so happy to see everyone in their school spirit wear and cheering on their teams. Check out the photos below of the great event.
