From shame to shine: how a teacher can change a life

We often talk about the impact educators can have on individuals, but I don’t think we could ever express that impact as effectively as Michelle Cooper has in her entry for The Greatest High School Teacher contest at Humber College. Michelle wrote about Melissa Beacock, a teacher at The Learning Centre in Orillia, who, by caring and believing in Michelle’s potential, helped Michelle believe in herself.
